I woke up at around 3 in the morning to get a head start on some things. The first thing I noticed was that Sarah wasn't up yet. I was really glad for this because it gave me some time to think without her intruding.
The first thing I did was notice that I hadn't checked my messages on my phone in a long time. Once I did check my phone, I saw what I thought I would. 6 text messages and 3 missed calls. Half of the text messages were from Reggie though, asking what I've been up to. I just replied, "Way too much." Two of the messages were from Tyler, one of the messages said, "What's up.", the other was a chain link message about a ghost. I r
I thought getting her out of the house would be hard, but it turned out that my aunt had gone to take a nap and all I had to do was make sure she didn't make too much noise.
Once we were out of the house I could breathe a little easier, but I still made sure we didn't get in the line of sight to her house.
When we made it to the woods, we stopped running and walked. I asked her what she packed in her bag and she said, "3 outfits, 2 extra shirts, a few underclothes, 2 pairs of pj's, a bikini, her cell phone charger, her makeup, and a diary."
"Which you won't be getting your hands on." She added.
"Why won't I." I asked.

She looked scared so I quickly let her in and quietly shut the door. I led her upstairs to my room where I told her, "Talk."
"My dad and I got into a fight and I couldn't take it so I left out my window when he and my brother were sleeping. I didn't know where else to go so I was hoping that you would let me live here." She said quietly.
"I can hide you here for a few days, but after that you are on your own."
"Come on Jay, I can stay here in your room, or even in the attic, I am not going back to that place."
"But you uhh!!" I said.
"Please as a friend." She said.
"Uhh, fine. What if my aunt ."
"No!" she sa
That morning I woke up to my aunt calling me and saying that it was time for breakfast. I yelled down that I still had to brush my teeth.
While I was doing that, I thought back about what had happened to get me here, even though I promised myself I would forget. Even though I knew forgetting wasn't an option, I could pretend, be in secret.
I rinsed my mouth out slowly when I heard my aunt call again, this time more impatient. I sighed and jumped down the steps halfway.
When I walked in the kitchen, my aunt was waiting with a birthday cake and candles.
"You thought I forgot, eh, ju
As the cargo ship sailed by I watched in disbelief to what was really happening. All the things I ever believed, or dreamed about, were gone. I always here the phrase, "Nothing more, nothing less", but in this situation, it was more like "Nothing more, a lot less"
We left the port at 3:25 as I would do every Friday from now on. My Aunt Sylvia smiled and said, "Almost there." as we drove up the steep road coming to her house.
I got out of the car and shut the door back. My Aunt Sylvia's house is on the top of a hill, overlooking the bottomless lake next to it. In the neighborhood there was only 3 other houses, none one with any children
